I would agree that walking is not a great way to get all that exercise. It’s not a good idea to get too much exercise that you don’t need. It’s also not good for your heart. If you are just going to walk as much as you can, you should probably consider an elliptical machine. You can get one for the kitchen, too.
I do disagree a little. I actually think walking 5 miles a day is a really good way to get all that exercise. I would think it would burn up quite a bit of calories. In the next 10 minutes I would think about walking 5 miles, plus another 10 minutes of walking at the gym to maintain my strength. Walking is a good way to get a good cardio workout.
Walking is not the same as jogging. A jogger uses a specific set of stairs and a certain speed that, in a way, resembles jogging, but is not specifically a jog. In a way, jogging is the same as walking, but at a slower speed. The difference is that the jogger walks at a slower speed, but does not use the stairs.
