In general, you should think about jobs that will give you a great work/life balance and will give you opportunities to grow in your career. Many companies like this are called “full-time” or “part-time.
You want to make sure that employers will provide you with opportunities to grow. If that opportunity is being an intern, then you want to make sure you can commit yourself to that long-term. If that job is, say, a part-time job, you want to make sure it isn’t something you will have to leave after a few months. This will help with your ability to commit to the job long-term.
When you’re not looking for work, you’re looking for people. When you’re looking for work, you want to find a company that is willing to pay you to stay. Sometimes that company will be able to offer you a job that pays you a decent hourly wage. Sometimes, though, it will be an opportunity for you to become a consultant.
