Why would you want to do a position where you do not know what your potential employers are looking for? Or at least that is what I am imagining. I do not know what type of administrator I would want to work for in the world. Are you going to be a “factory administrator” or a “bureaucrat”? The position of an administrator requires you to work at a job you don’t know.
I think many administrators don’t know what they want. And as a developer you have to know what you want to do in order to make a career out of it. I think the majority of admin jobs are to work for a large business that wants to hire someone who is well versed in their products or wants to work on a project they have a vested interest in.

And since most people dont know what they want to do, they tend to end up doing something else. So you end up doing administrative jobs because you dont know what you want to do. Well you can look everywhere. You can search the internet for a job that is related to what you want. You can look at your resume in the computer to see if it is a good fit. You can look at the local government web site to see if there is any work available.
No, you cant. When you work at a job you don’t even know, you dont have any idea what you want to look for. You have no idea what you want to do next. You end up doing administrative jobs because they are the easiest jobs you can get. They are the jobs you always wanted and no one is looking for you.
Yes, I read that. I want a job that I do not know what I want to do next. I want something that doesn’t involve me looking at my phone, typing a lot of stuff into my computer, and then having to go to a job website and fill out my resume. I want something I dont even know.
We all have day jobs, and some of us even work part-time. That’s fine, but we all work at least 1/3 of the time, because we need the income to pay the bills, or we need the income to get our kids to school. It’s like the CEO of a company saying they need to make more money because they are working more, they need to make more money, and they need to make more money.
Its not about the money, it’s about the hours. Most people work longer hours for the same amount of pay. But that’s not the case for us. We are all in the same boat.
I think this is more than just a matter of being in the same boat. It is a matter of priorities. In the end, the people who really matter to you are the ones who work the longest hours and the longest hours for the fewest paychecks.
That is the point of management. You may not be able to make the minimum wage, but you are not working for the minimum wage. You are working for the people who are paying the minimum wage.
